his very short-lived series followed the Seated Liberty design of the era. Twenty Cent Pieces were struck from 1875 to 1878 with 1877 and 1878 being rare proof-only Twenty Cent Pieces. Philadelphia, Carson City and the San Francisco Mint all struck Twenty Cent Pieces.
The 1876-CC is the ‘key’ to a complete Twenty Cent Piece collection. 10,000 coins were struck but almost all were melted at the Carson City Mint. Today, a decent example of this rare Twenty Cent Piece easily fetches $100,000!
Thick creamy luster with a faint amber glow. The strike is sharp and there is plenty of eye appeal. The only realistically affordable 'CC' date in the series for most collectors. Very popular and desirable.
Well struck with rich satiny mint luster that shows a splash of golden-green toning.
Splendid frosty white surfaces exhibit excellent strike and grand eye appeal.
Beautiful original surfaces with a dusting of champagne toning with a touch of turquoise and gold hue. A scarce proof-only issue. Housed in an early PCGS holder.
