Barber quarters were issued from 1892 to 1916. They were designed by Charles Barber and struck in Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans, and San Francisco.
1896-S, 1901-S and 1913-S are the rarest dates of Barber Quarters. A 1901-S Barber Quarter demands several thousand dollars in even the lowest grade and is by far the rarest coin in the Barber Quarter series.
A beautiful first year proof in the Barber series that contrasts deeply mirrored fields with thickly frosted devices. Surfaces are brilliant white with a faint hint of gold. Only 6 DCAM grade numerically finer at PCGS.
CAC. Very flashy white surfaces and nearly pristine with wonderful cameo contrast.
Great black and white contrast and excellent eye appeal. At the upper end of the 'Cameo' designation, at the very least!
Nicely frosted devices and very reflective fields that create a lovely 'black and white' effect. A light touch of golden hue adds depth and eye appeal to otherwise brilliant white surfaces. A true stand-out.
A better date with a sharp strike and silver-gray surfaces.
Sharply struck with silver-gray surfaces and touches of gold tint.
CAC.
One of the keys to the series and a real prize in mint state. This is a beautiful coin with satiny white luster, a very sharp strike, and no heavy abrasions.
A beautiful Gem Proof with heavy frost on the design and ultra deep mirrored fields. The surfaces are mostly white with just a hint of gold.
Extremely well struck with satiny white luster over nice clean surfaces. A tough date to find in any mint state grade.
A Superb Gem with pristine mirrored proof surfaces and beautiful rich golden-violet toning.
Lustrous silver-white and gold.
Very well struck with frosty luster and a blend of light champagne and gold toning.
CAC. Incredible quality with amazingly fresh and bright original surfaces that are essentially perfect. If you're building a memorable date or type set, this is the coin for you!
Extremely flashy with a vibrant white core framed by a band of russet and turquoise toning at the perimeter. A very small proof mintage of 545. Super eye appeal!
A modest 712,000 minted during the final year of operation at the New Orleans Mint. This is a well struck example with nearly mark-free surfaces. It is fully lustrous with a bright silver center surrounded by rings of beautiful iridescent toning.
A better date with coin-gray surfaces.
CAC. Incredible quality with frosty white design elements sitting on flawless deep mirrored fields. A delicate ring of turquoise and russet toning adds to the terrific eye appeal and frames this nearly perfect Barber Quarter!
